Nigeria-born Anyanwu Seeks IBF Intercontinental Ti

Rising from a silver medal posting at the 2004 Nigerian National Sports Festival in Abuja and a gold medal at the Ibadan 2005 Champion of Champions challenge, Nigerian boxer, Innocent Anyanwu, currently based in Holland, will by May 2007, be contending for honours at the IBF Intercontinental Championships coming up in Brussels.

Anyanwu who left Nigeria with the award of the best boxer of the year 2005, as given endorsed by the Nigeria Amateur Boxing Association, NABA, promptly went professional in the the Netherlands and to his credit he has  in nine professional bouts, recorded eight wins, including four TKOs and a draw.

Talking with nigeriasports.com, Anyanwu called for the support of all Nigerians, including those of his home people, Ahiazu in Mbaise, Imo state, assuring that in him, Nigeria as a nation has got a professional boxer that can fly the flag of the country and bring it honours and glory in the international sporting arena.
