Players and officials of Dolphins FC may have nothing to complain about as sponsors of the club- Rivers State sports ministry has paid all outstanding debts owed to the team.
The Players recieved the 4 months back log of salaries owed them and all outstanding sign on fees and match bonuses for the 2005 football season.
However, the money was paid to the NFL and not the players simply because sometime last year, the players petitioned the Rivers state sports ministry to the NFL over the debt.
Before the league opener against Bayelsa United in Port Harcourt, all outstanding match bonuses were paid and 40% balance of their sign on fees for 2006 football season.
Speaking on the settlement of the outstanding fees to the players. a member of the club's management team declared that ,
" Dolphins will no longer be described as a club that owe players. Our players are still some of the highest paid in the country and it was just unfotunate that we owed them when we shouldnt have".
