Black Queens' skipper, Adjoa Bayor has said that the field would decide the better side when the Ghanaians come up against South Africa in the
African Women Championship (AWC) semi final match at the Oghara Stadium, Tuesday.
The South African coach Augustine Makalakalane has triggered a war of words ahead of the crunchy duel that qualifies the winner to the FIFA World Cup in the Republic of China in 2007,when he described the Ghanaian side as a one dimentional side, but the player says talk is cheap andeveryone is entitled tohis or her opinions.
" It is ok if they want to talk big, but our concern is to get the results on the field. Yes, the turf will always decide who wins . The best hostilities in football is the one exhibited on the field of play".
The midfielder said that the team was properly motivated motivated to pick a
slot to represent the continent alongside the winner of the Nigeria-Cameroon duel and nothing would stop them from achieving that dream.
According to her"The Queens would go all out fighting for the three important points. We will find that spark that had been missing from our game so far in order to prevail".
"We know we will play very well because for once it will be on a good pitch.
All the pitches we have played on so far have been terrible and with this being far better, we will surely be in our element and fight to ensure we squeeze out a fine result".
Ghana coach Isaac Paha says he does not see the Banyana Banyana as a threat ahead of their potentially-explosive semi final match at the Oghara Township Stadium on Tuesday.
The Black Queens finished top of group B with maximum nine points, and line up a cracker with the 2000 runners-up who finsihed second in group A.
"I don't see them as a threat. That word does not occur to me. You know, for every head, there is a matching cap. We can handle the challenge".
Paha played as an international for Ghana's Black Stars and is
highly-respected by his players. He is banking on the attacking trio of Rumanatu Tahiru, Anita Amankwa and Florence Adutwumwaa as well as skipper and midfield ace Adjoa Bayor to overcome the South Africans.
Bayor, at the post-match following the 3-1 defeat of DR Congo, said:"I know it will be a tough match against South Africa. But I believe that Ghana wil triumph. Many will see it as a midfield contest between Adjoa Bayor and Portia Modise, but Bayor will come out tops".
