The 6-0 spanking of the Algerian female national team by the Nigeria's Super Falcons has been described as the signal to the team's preparedness to thie 5th African Women Championship.
Speaking to nigeriasports.com, the team captain, Kikelomo Ajayi said the victory has re-energised the team which struggled to get passed Equatorial Guinea.
"This victory will send a good signal. We were not able to do well in our first match which sent a disappointing signal to our teeming supporters. But with this our preparedness to win the championship is re-energised".
She on behalf of the team thanked the only woman member of the Nigerian Football Association, Princess Bola Jegede whom she said has been source of inspiration to the team from their camping days to date.
Also speaking coach of the Super Falcons, Ntiero Effiom said that the team had a very good result which shows that in every match, there is an improvement.
"We had a very good result which shows that in every match there is an improvement. We worked on all the departments to achieve what we got".
He however reiterated his team's determination to win 5th trophy of AWC describing the result against Algeria as an indicator to that dream, ponting out that the team was wonderful in their match with Algeria as they displayed good football.
