PEPSI woos Fans with PREDICT & WIN promo

Football enthusiasts across the country will have the opportunity of winning assorted gift items during the African Women Football Championship (AWC) holding at four towns in Delta State.

  This was made availaible by Pepsi,the  official sponsor of the AWC, football fans will be required to predict correctly results of matches, participation in quiz competition to test their knowledge of the AWC and generally send
goodwill messages to the players.

   People will be required to send their SMS message to 32144 on three
GSM networks ? MTN, Glo and Celtel.

  Winners will be picked randomly electronically and they will receive instant text message at the end of each game notifying them of their win and where to
pick their prizes in their cities of residence.

  In al,l a total of 1,000 cases of Pepsi, 200 branded T-shirts and 200 face caps will be given out during the African Female Football Championship. 


AWC:PESPI ANNOUNCES AWARDS FOR MVP, GOALADOR

Pepsi has announced awards for certain categories of players at the 5th African Women Football Championship (AWC) which kicked off on Saturday 28th October,2006 in Warri, Delta State.

  These include the Pepsi Most Valuable player (MVP), Pepsi Golden Boot (Highest goal scorer) and Pepsi Best Team of the Championship (winning team).

  The MVP and highest goal scorer will smile home with N100,000 each,while the winning team will receive N200,000. This is in addition to other incentive
packages fro the players.

  Spokesman for Pepsi said that the awards are aimed at motivating the players to give their best and also engender the spirit of healthy competition among the teams.
  
  "As partners with CAF, the awards are part of our effort to add value to the competition and bring out the best in the girls"
  
  Nigeria's Perpetua Nkwocha, African Female Footballer of the year for the past two years, holds the all-time highest goal record in a single championship with her nine strikes (including four against Cameroon in the
final) at the 4th edition of the AWC held in South Africa.
  
   Nkwocha who plies her trade in China is tipped by bookmakers to retain the title but she has to ward off strong opposition from her compatriots like Vera Okolo and Cynthia Uwak and even strong challenge from players from South Africa, Cameroon and Ghana.
