We are sleague sponsors-Globacom

Chief Obaseki
An official Globacom, title sponsors of the Nigeria premier football league, Mr Harry Iwuala, has faulted the alledged contract termination of the Premier League accredited to the Chairman, Nigeria Football League, Chief Jackson Oyuki-Obaseki Association over the league sponsorship.

saying that chief Obaseki’s statement was “inconsistent with the terms of the contract” between the NFL and the Nigeria Football

The NFL chairman was reported to have said the contract between the league board and the telecommunications firm was over after the Super Four in Abuja, alleging that Globacom did not fulfill its agreement with the NFL.

But the company said it was not prepared to take issue with the NFL, describing the league body chairman’s claims as “strange to the spirit and letter of the Premier League Sponsorship Agreement signed on December 17, 2002.”

Iwuala added that the statement published in some newspapers was full of contradictions, saying that Obaseki was “not sufficiently acquainted with the terms of the contract”

He said, “There is a clear situation of self-contradiction in the claims of Chief Obaseki, who on the one hand celebrates the termination of a contract that has run its due time and on the hand, is crying that the NFL at no time signed a contract with Globacom. Yet the same Obaseki has publicly acknowledged inheriting a contract from the NFA.”
Trouble has been brewing between the title sponsors since the NFL boycotted the the Globacom organised football awards to mark the end of the league season in Abuja.
