Falconets miss goal poacher

Striker Tawa Ishola who got on the score sheet by scoring the opening goal for Nigeria in the 3-2 victory against Canada is definately ruled out of the teams' next game, reports nigeriasports.com.

The Bayelsa queens of Yeneguoa player has got a swollen eye and a sore feet which prevented her from training with the rest of the squad on Saturday morning in what was going to be the Falconets last practice before taking on China PR on Sunday.

Chief coach of the team, Emmanuel Tetteh Okonkwo is however not losing sleep over the development, going by his response to nigeriasports.com.

"It's sad she is out of the next game. Hopefully she should be fit for the one after that because our doctors are working round the clock on her. We however have got so many capable replacements for her position", the former NPA coach concluded.

The player concerned, Tawa Ishola is also confident the team can still play and win without her.

"I feel bad naturally because am here to play football but there is nothing I can do about it. I can only wish the team the very best of luck", she added.

Nigeria needs all three points against China to guarantee her place in the quater-finals of Russia 2006 U-20 world cup.

Reports Opatola Adewole, Moscow, Russia.
