Gothia victory inflames SUM FC

If feelers reaching our offices are anything to go by, then Nigerians should be expecting better fortunes in football, essentially in the youth brackets. This is sequel to the global feat achieved by SUM FC at the last Gothia FIFA Finals in Sweden, where the country emerged as the champions of global female under 19 football showcase hosted by Sweden last month.

Winning anything in the youths events of FIFA had been out of the reach of the country; especially in FIFA selected youth developmental programmes.

Speaking with nigeriasports.com President of the victorious Nigerian team, Albert Durojaiye disclosed that, "this is a sort of tonic of me and my boys and girls...as a matter of fact, it will further energize every member of the team, both players, administrative and technical crews of my Academy to wake up and face the challenges of giving the game a loftier status in the country and of course, the rest of the world."

Durojaiye further stated that, "in our little way, we have been able to give to the game, what we can.  But that is not saying that we are through.  As a matter of fact, we have just begun.

"We want to go further to add to the Gothia Cup victory. From here, we can assist both the young boys and girls to develope their talents.  Ofcours, the country, the game, the community, and the entire world stand to gain from them."

The Lagos based youth soccer academy we gathered, is wrapping up packages intended to further prop up the youths in their bids to raised the standard of the game; "so that, they can face the challenges of the game when they grow older." Duro stated.
