Abuja date for Super League

In a bid to ensure that true champions emerge at the end of the on-going 2006 Globacom Premier League, the Super League, where champions of both Groups A and B would lock horns, has been slated for Abuja, the nation's capital city.

This we gathered, is because Abuja is a neutral ground and as such, would be a level playing ground for all contestants.  As a result, the NFL has stated that, the Super League is expected to be played from August 28 - September 3, 2006.

According to NFL chairman, Chief Oyuki Obaseki, "Abuja would be an ideal venue to determine the clubs that would eventually represent the country at continental tournaments next season.  This is so because we expect the city to be a neutral venue for all such teams that would eventually qualify for the abridged league at the end of the current Premiership."
