FIFA kicks out Fanny Amun
Unwilling to be dragged into the petty politics which almost ruined the image of Nigeria football on the one hand and upholding their religious belief in ensuring that the game which brings glamour and joy to homes the world over, FIFA, the world's governors of the game, has washed their hands off Fanny Amun as NFA acting Scribe.
As far as the body is concerned, Amun ceased to be recognized as the acting secretary general of the Nigerian football house, soon after the settlement of the disagreement between the Ministry and the FA. And to demonstrate their wariness in having anything to do with the former Eaglets coach, FIFA has turned down Amun's application for accreditation to attend their pre-GERMANY 2006 World Cup Congress scheduled to hold before the Mundial kicks-off. Reports reaching us from Abuja indicate that, the now embattled Amun, whose orchestration and parade as the NFA acting Secretary-General was deafening, while the Ministry/NFA imbroglio lasted, has been doing all his best possible to secure an accredication to attend the Congress. "The man has been trying his best possible to secure an accreditation and invitation but no success. He is a man of many colours and now, after insulting Galadima openly on the pages of newspapers, he is struggling to retain his position and seeking Galadima's good side. "He knows that his days at the Glass House are over and the drum beats for him have stopped with the settlement of the crisis. Sooner than later, he and his self-appointed coaches will have to go. "I can assure you that, the authentic board have start the processes of appointing a new and qualified Secretary-General and that will be in one or two weeks' time," the source told nigerisports.com Meanwhile, the NFA chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima is expected to travel to Germany to attend the Congress where is to brief the House on how far the board has gone in reconciling the differences in his Association. The meeting, which is slated for June 6, 2006, is a traditional summit for FIFA before every World Cup Finals. 0
