Supporters deny visa reports

Fresh from a honourable trip to Abuja, where he and some key members of the executive conferred the Honour of the Grand Patron of the Nigeria Sports Supporters Club on the President, Chief Segun Obasanjo, Dr. Ladipo, head of the club, was all frown when he spoke with nigeriasports.com in his Lagos offices.

"You see, I want to be as friendly with people as much and best as I can.  But if such gestures are abused, I get upset and angry.  Can you imagine that, it was reported in some dailies that, 300 members of the Nigeria Sports Supporters Club were denied entry visas into South Africa for the friendly international matches between the South African Under-23 and ours'.

"The fact is that," Dr. Rafiu Ladipo continued, "we sent only 61 names of our members, who would like to travel to that country to cheer our boys and not 300.  What is at stake in the matches?  There should be fair play by all parties because we are all working towards one goal," he submitted.
