Nigeria Street Football World Cup Team emerges

Nigeria’s team list to the first Street Football World Cup which will hold back to back with the World Cup finals in Germany has been released.

The list includes Isiaka Tijani, Eze Bobby, Micheal Oluwadamilare, Nimikimi Macintosh, Francis Obaji and Saheed Shittu. Two goalkeepers, Matthew Ogunmola and Sola Jacob complete the list with legendary coach Joe Erico heading the coaching crewwith assistance from Humphrey Udebuna.

Project Co-ordinator of Search and Groom Yomi Kuku who disclosed that the players were selected from the three conferences Ajegunle, Abesan and Agege all in Lagos State that hosted the pilot phase of Nigeria’s first ever Street League which ended in April.

He also implored the players to be good ambassadors of their various families, communities and Nigeria as a whole.

Kuku further pointed out that the German foreign Ministry, German Embassy Lagos, Streetfootballworld Berlin in conjuction with FIFA, have put in place everything that will make their trip to Germany a fulfilling one.

More information on the Streetfootball World Cup, he said will be revealed at an official launch of Nigeria’s participation on Thursday June 1 at the Eko fm multipurpose hall, Lagos.

Meanwhile, the team played its first warm up match at the weekend winning 2-1 against a selected side in Lagos.

i believe Nigeria can make it cos of the origin of the selected players. we all know Lagos is a home of football.
