FIFA visit sends jitters through ministry![]()
" If at the end of the effort, no peaceful is found, then ofcourse, the hammer would come on the country...and it would be scandalous, because the government too would let many heads roll and go; not matter how high they may be." These were the words of our sources from Abuja on the visit of FIFA and how Abuja is taking it; especially the Sports Ministry. We were informed that a series of closed door meetings have been going on but as at press time, no positive stance had been taken by neither Galadima's nor Minister's. We also learnt that, however, the pressure seemed to be more on the Minister's troop "since FIFA had earlier in clear terms, pitched their tent with the Kano elections which returned Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima to the Glass House as the Executive Chairman of the NFA." Nigeriasports.com also gathered that, Galadima has told the Ministry in clearer terms that, he would no relinquish the mandate and play the Roman Fool only to die on his own sword. "Nobody and nothing will stampede me into quitting. I have nothing skeletal in the wardrobes and therefore, nothing to hide," Galadima was quoted as saying. FIFA Secretary-General is being expected in the country on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 to join Dr. Amos Adamu, who leads the Minister's Army in the search for peace. 0
