Ikoyi Club Hosts Vmobile Golf Finals
Ikoyi Club 1938 Golf Course will be literally over-run by corporate Nigeria, when the finals of the National Qualifier of the 5th edition Vmobile Corporate Golf Challenge tees off on May 6 this year.
One of the major highlights of the two-day golf fiesta is a golf trick-shot show by renowned trick-shot star, Jeremy Dale, who is making a return to Nigeria after four years. He performed at the National Finals in 2002. In the finals, 80 executives representing 20 teams will do battle over two days, May 6th and 7th, for the single slot for Nigeria’s representative at this year’s World Corporate Golf Challenge Finals coming up later in May in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 20 teams, drawn from corporate organisations across the country, emerged from the National Qualifiers held last weekend in Port Harcourt. In the guest category, Vmobile will present two teams which, according to the co-ordinator, Saeta Ukpemo, will aim to improve its previous performance. The Vmobile team will feature CFO, Chris Tiffin; CHRO, Chris Bezuidenhout; Billy Cordani, Tayo Bright, Mark Greaves, Tolu Ojo, Saeta Ukpemo, among others. Other sponsors, namely LM Ericsson Nigeria, DHL, Toyota Nigeria Limited and Custodian & Allied Insurance Limited, are also expected to feature in the guest category. The winner of the finals will fly Nigeria’s flag at the World Corporate Golf Challenge in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the end of May. A prize presentation and gala dinner will be held at the Atlantic Gardens, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 7th to round off proceedings for this year’s qualifiers. Last year, Nigeria was represented at the World finals in La Manga, Spain, by Ayisan Limited, who unfortunately could not sail through the National Qualifiers of the year's edition.
