Pedro, Lagos Deputy Gov. to watch finals
Lagos State basketball team seems to be the hallmark of the state participation in the 15th Ntional Sports Festival as the state number-two man, Otunba Femi Pedro has sent the goodwill message to go for the two gold medals at stake.
Aside the goodwill messaghe which delivered to the male and female basketball teams by an official of the state sports council, the deputy governor have also promised to be on hand to cheer the teams to victory this afternoon when they confront Ogun State (female finals) and Bayelsa State (male finals). Arrangement is also in top gear to deploy the entire state contingent to the Alake Sports Centre, Ijeja to drum up support for the teams who are determined to reclaim the gold medals it surrender two yers ago. Chairman of the state basketball association, Babs Ogunade has said nothing short of the two gold medals will be good enough for the state. "The players are double charged for the task ahead of them, they know that aside winning the gold for the state they also stand a chance of writing their names in history as being among the elite players to have written their names in gold", the former Nigerian international stated.
