Oyo takes 5000m gold

Oyo state long distance runner, Tawa Adebigba grabbed the 5000m gold in the finals decided on tuesday at the Gateway International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode

He beat Alex Nenpinwa to second place, while Sekirat Gaza of Oyo State won the bronze.

The semi-finals of the 100m also take place today and will have the likes of Deji Aliu, Uche Emoedolu, Soji Fasugba, Chinedu Odorzor and Mercy Nku on parade.

All athletics events hold at the Gateway International stadium, Ijebu-Ode
