Consortium of coaches for Falconets

Barely four days to the world cup qualifier against Kenya, the team has six coaches guiding the players, a development that is worrisome to close watchers of the women game in Nigeria.

Omidiran, in a chat with nigeriasports.com insist all six coaches are duly employed as part of the technical crew.

“They are all our coaches and I do not think they are having problems with that,” Ayo Omidiran said.

Asked who is the head of the Technical crew, Omidiran said the crew has no head or assistant, describing them as a consortium, all having equal powers.”

 In the last two weeks there was a face off between Ayo Omidiran and acting NFA Secretary General, Fanny amun over who should run the team leading to two national teams in Abuja and Ijebu-Ode. While the Abuja team was handled by the duo of Emmanuel Tetteh and Rowlandson Odey, the team led by Omidiran in Ijebu-Ode was handled by the duo of Felix Ibe and Santana Oluwole.

Meanwhile, the consortium of coaches handling the national u-20 team, Falconets for Sundays World cup qualifying match against Kenya have listed twenty-five players for the encounter.

The list includes four foreign based players, Cynthia Uwak, Faith Ikidi, Stella Godwin and Sabi Akudo.

The rest are drawn from professional league sides across the country.
