Bayelsa Stadium ready for Premiership challenges

Finishing touches are being put in place for the up-grading of the Yenagoa City Stadium to host high profile premiership actions in the fast- approaching football date. In a chat with nigeriasports.com, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Bayelsa SWAN chairman, Chris Odi said that the stadium is being enlarged in readiness for the 2006 actions.

He also informed our correspondent that, Bayelsa United have declared assistant coach to Samson Siasia at WYC, Monday Odigie awol having absconded after signing the dotted lines to lead the river side club.

"When the coach came and signed, the management gave him a club target, which included the levels of position the team is expected to attain on weekly tables," said Odi.

"It was at that point, the young man excused himself to travel to the Nigeria Institute For Sports, Lagos to help himself update his technical know-how," he added.  It would be recalled that though, Bayelsa Utd won the professional league as champions,  they remained  at Kwale in

Delta State for closed camping and are being handled by David Egbiri with an army of players drawn from Dolphins, Enyimba and Sharks.
