Even though the aforementioned NASK National Open Championship is not the first of its kind by the association, it is however, the first event that we have ever had entirely sponsored by one company and for this reason we are grateful to the management of Chevron for believing in us, trusting in the potential of the sport in our nation and by their magnanimity helping in no small measure to positively affect Nigeria Karate and we want appeal to other corporate organization to emulate the gesture exhibited by Chevron in the over all interest of sports development in Nigeria”, Ogwo concluded
