Nigerians who are origins of the Imo State, are not happy with the sudden change of name 'Iwuayanwu Nationale FC to Heartland FC ... and this is causing ripples around the football circles in the State and even beyond. nigeriasports.com investigations reveal that, the name Heartland means nothing to the people of the State.

"Heartland as far as we are concerned, means nothing. It should have been better, if the club was re-chrstened 'Spartan FC of Owerri as it used to be known. Or better still, "Imo United FC" one of the many Imo State football stakeholders told nigeriasports.com.

The former Iwauyanwu Nationale FC, now Heartland FC, in preparation for the 2006 Nigerian football season, has decided to move to Kafanchan in Kaduna State, to gird their loins in readiness for the challenges of both the local and continental season.
