Globacom Rallies Support for Super Eagles
Globacom Limited, the Official Sponsor of Super Eagles, has assured the players of maximum support of all Nigerians as they tackle the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire for a place in the finals of the 25th Africa Cup of Nations. The company added that Nigerians are very confident that the Super Eagles will again triumph against the Elephants as they did in 1994 enroute winning the trophy in Tunisia.
Mike Jituboh, the Executive Director, Special Projects, commended the team for remaining unbeaten in the competition, noting that as true champions, they will maintain the invincibility in Alexandria where they play the Ivoriens today. “Globacom is proud to associate with the Super Eagles and we are confident that you will fly all the way to the finals and make Nigerians proud with the cup. As you file out today against the Elephants of Ivory Coast, be assured that every Nigerian is cheering you just as the drums and songs of the Supporters Club will sound loud and clear to inspire you to victory”, he declared. Recalling a similar victory in 1994, the Globacom official remarked, “the Ivorians know your pedigree, they know history and present performance favours you. Go all out, do your best and make us proud as was the case in 1994 in Tunisia”. He urged the team not to be discouraged by the hostility being experienced by the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) by those who are not happy with Nigeria’s performance. In his words “no amount of intimidation will stop the supporters from drumming and cheering you to victory”. Globacom is the Official Sponsor of the Super Eagles and Official Partner of the NFA and the Nigeria Football Supporters Club.
