CAN '06: Okocha ready to face Tunisia

Super Eagles macurial captain Austin "Jay-Jay" Okocha has been declared fit to play in Nigeria African Cup of Nations quarter-final match against Tunisia billed for Saturday.

Chief coach Austin Eguavoen, however, expresses his delight in the readiness of the Bolton midfielder's response to treatment and being certified fit to play again.

"I'm happy that Jay-Jay is now fit to play and he is going to be part of my team that will face Tunisia," the former chairman of Bendel Insurance football club told reporters.

A thigh injury has meant Okocha has missed Nigeria's three group games so far at the Nations Cup in Egypt.

"I should have included him in my team against Senegal but I decided to leave him out in order for him to have enough rest for our game against Tunisia," Eguavoen added.

The Bolton midfielder has already announced that he will be retiring from international football after the Nations Cup.

Wilson Oruma has also been passed fit for the game against Tunisia, after recovering from a knee injury he picked up in Nigeria's 2-0 win over Zimbabwe last Friday.
