Eguavoen, reacting to criticisms regarding his list of over fifty names, the Chief Coach said he would still invite more players into his team between now and when the Nations cup squad of twenty two is named. “I knew what I was doing when I submitted my list so, let nobody think I was under any influence that was not mine,” Eguavoen said. “I want to give as many players as possible, a chance to play for the country and you know, it is not possible to exhaust Nigerian footballers around the world, so as I drop some, I would add others.” He said he understood that it will be difficult getting everyone to camp as at when due and would not want to get into a difficult position when certain players turn down his invitation or do not show up on time. “As far as I’m concerned at any point in time, I should have at least a minimum of twenty five players in camp and the way to ensure this, is to invite as many players to camp and keep inviting until I’m sure of my final twenty two.” Eguavoen hinted that, he may extend an invitation to US- based Kazeem Ahmed, a player introduced to the team by Assistant Coach, Samson Siasia. There may also be possible call ups for Seyi Olajengbesi, Rabiu Afolabi and Segun Abiodun based in Sweden. . From china ocheru
