Court injunction threat over NFA Elections

As the much-expected December 29 2005 date for the Nigeria Football Association, NFA elections draws nearer, feelers reaching nigeriasports.com from Abuja, suggest that there could be a loud hiccup that is capable of rendering that date, unrealistic.

According to nigeriasports.com Abuja sources, a legal organization, is said to be unimpressed with the way things were done in relation to the elections. As a result of this, "the legal practitioners have decided to seek redress in the court of law.

Of course, we have heard in many reliable quarters in Abuja here, that the possibility of seeking a court injunction to stop the elections on that day, cannot be ruled-out."

Our investigations show that, the crux of the matter, is the legal body's objection to circumstances surrounding the clearance of some of the aspirants.

According to our source, the light of the legal practitioners beams more on the clearance of the former chairman of the soccer body, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima.

We hear also that, the Sports Ministry has not "been too pleased with the exercise, since they have vested interest in some of the aspirants."
