Committee screens NFA chairmanship aspirants

sports minister, sambaw
No fewer than 33 Nigerians, who are gunning for the lofty position of being the nation's football house's driver, have been facing the electoral committee in Abuja. The committee headed by Nduka Irabor, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, nigeriasports.com gathered, screened documents submitted by the aspirants as credentials.

At the end of the exercise, we gathered that, names of these ball power-hungry men and women, who hope they can give Nigerians what they require, would be made known to the public, and of course, nigeriasports.com is on hand to bring you all the revealing details.

However, our sources revealed that, the reported stalemate of the South-West meeting in Akure, the Ondo State capital, was brought about by the non-compliance of candidates to step down for one another, as was negotiated in the northern bloc; so that a consesus candidate could emerge as one representative.

According to one of nigeriasports.com sources, "the reported 'stalemate' is another way of saying 'the way forward' so that the nation's eventual football leadership boat stirer, does not fall into wrong hands as it had been; with Nigeria not being able to nick a ticket for next year's World Cup in Germany."

Some of the aspirants, who had to go through the electoral committee' screening processes included;

Segun Odegbami, Lumumba,who is according to our impeccable sources, is "one of the northern candidates being sponsord by the Sports Minister," Obienu, who came to Lagos to declare his interest to a selected media houses, Taiwo Ogunjobi, who was forced to resign by the Galadima and ex-sports minister, Musa Mohammed and  Ibrahim Galadima, who contributed in no little way in stopping Nigeria from nicking a Germany 20006 World Cup ticket, amongst others.

This is a good example of what is wrong with majority of our sports Administrators. The way the NFA is dealing with Agbeyeni's present situation is completely wrong. Mr. Galadima is out there talking about how Mr. Agbeyeni is disrespectful to Nigerians. The association has consistently been disrespectful to all our National players. What stops Mr. Galadima from having a talk with Agbeyeni and ironing things out between the player and the National Coach. There is hardly any situation that cannot be resolved if dealth with the right way. Unfortunately, all our Administrators involved are so concerned about "respect". Thay think a player has to bow down to them to be seen as good. Just remember, you are there to serve these players and not the other way around.
