College set to pick kids for excellent grooming![]() Thanks to the initiative of the Football College of Excellence, that has decided to add some bit of intellectual touches to the raw skills of the Nigerian football-playing teenagers. The purpose of Monday's gathering of the kids, ages 11 - 17, is for the technical arm of the Kojo Williams' brain child of a school for Nigerian kids, to go through a screening process for both the authentication of their ages and skills; preparatory to resuming in the Ilorin-based school in January, 2006. According to an investigation carried out by nigeriasports.com, well over a thousand (1000) kids are expected to attend the exercise which is hoped, would stretch through to Friday, December 16, 2005. nigeriasports.com also learnt that, a similar exercise was concluded in Benin-City, the Edo State capital, in the mainbowl of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Saturday, December 10, 2006. This of course, was not until other states of the country had, had their fair share of the screening exercise. The practical selection event, is being conducted by Super Eagles former expartriate coach, Clemens Westerhof, who had been assisted by a kinsman from Holland and other Nigerian coaches. It would be recalled that, the initial fee for form of N10,000 have since been reduced to N5,100 ... thanks to the Kojo Williams Foundation, which decided to pick up the balance of N4,100. The tuition, feeding, accommodation and kits-free football college, offers both academic and soccer knowledge to qualified Nigerian children between the ages of 11 and 17.
