Enyimba deny sell out to Dolphins

Enyimba's Goalkeeper, Dele Ayenugba
League Champions, Enyimba of Aba have denied being involved in any sell out to Dolphins in Saturday’s league match they lost 2-0 in Port Harcourt.

Shortly after the match traveling fans of the Aba elephants held players of Enyimba hostage saying they sold out the match to dolphins.

However, Assistant coach of the side, Sylvanus Okpalla waved off those insinuations as what they really are, rumours.

“Did you watch the match? Did the match look like there was a sell out? We came to Port Harcourt to win but lost a lot of scoring chances. Dolphins also wanted to win and were fortunate to convert their chances.”

“I played for many years in Nigerian before moving to Portugal and I also played for the Eagles too and in all my years I have never known match fixing closely so I would not want to be associated with it.”

Goal keeper, Dele also corroborated his coachs’ idea saying there was no such thing as a sell out.

“There was no sell out and I will not say we did not take the game seriously. We are the champions and we have our pride at stake but we were just unfortunate to have lost this game.”

Enyimba should go back to their drawing board and get more good players that will execute next year's caf champions league and stop all these match fixing and so on.

Up Enyimba! But however, they should be ready to fight come next year i.e all hands must be on deck between the official and players of Enyimba to take their dear club to a greater heights come next season (both domestic and continental).
