Union Bank beat Petro Atletico, lost to ABC

Nigeria representative at the ongoing grand finale of the 20th edition of Africa most prestigious club championship, the champions cup, Union Bank basketball club Wednesday defeated one of the three Angolan teams on match day-4 Petro Atletico de Luanda 73-70 points in a thrilling encounter.

The Ayinla Johnson and Emma Okolo tutored side were clearly a better side of the night with half-time scores standing at 41-26 in favour of the Nigeria Challenge Cup winer to grab a second win of the championship which gets underway last weekend.

The Nigerian side were not however lucky against host team, ABC basketball club as they went down 78-73 points to place joint fourth with Petro but qualified for the semi-finals on technical ground thus setting up the stage agianst Inter Clube de Luanda while Primero Agosto de Luanda engaged ABC of Ivory Coast in the second semi-finals.

The semi final pairing between Union Bank and Inter Clube will afford the Nigerians the opportunity to avenge their 71-70 points lose to the Angolan in its very first game.
