Lagos Summer Clinic Ends amid funfare

The 10-day holiday summer clinic organized by the Lagos State Sports Council was rounded off today (Tuesday) at the Sports Hall of the Rowe Park Sports Center, Yaba amid funfare.

The clinic according to the image maker of the council, Miss Adeoti Sobowale was aimed at discovering new talents by the Sports Council under the able leadership of former national basketball coach turned administrator, Simon Agboola Pinheiro.

The over 500 kids of ages 5-15 who took part of the clinic which statred on August 31 in six different sports were issued certificate of participation while their instructors who are all on the employed of the sports council were commended for a job well done.

The sports in which the kids took part includes Basketball, Tennis, Table Tennis, Gymnastic, Badminton and Taekwondo.

Council chairman, Pinheiro promised that the clinic will be organized at every long vacation and also extended to other local government council of the state in order to expose more kids in the state to sporting activities early.

The programme gearded at the physical conditioning, skill development and acquisition, health orientation and social development of the kids is seen as one of the ways the sports council can keep up with its goals of being socially responsible to the teeming youths in the state.
