Scholarships for Football College in-takes

Making this fact known to nigeriasports.com in Lagos was the Media and Publicity Consultant, Mr. Effiong Nyong.  According to Nyong, who is also the Editor, Sports, Rhythm FM Radio and Silverbird TV, Lagos, "it is not true that, parents of children admitted into the school would have to pay through their noses.  The fact is that, such fortunate children would not pay even a farthing (kobo) -  the lowest denominations of the Nigerian currency.

"What I mean is that, besides the initial Ten Thousand Naira (10,000), for the Admission Forms, they are not expected to pay anything more for the duration that the course would last.  Furthermore, children who do not meet the skills requirements of the college, have the previlege to re-apply the following year free of charge.  All they have to do, is to provide the reciept with which they form for the previous year.

"We have decided to do this because, we do realize that, there are two to three colleges that collect fees in foriegn currencies in Nigeria.  The Football College of Excellence, is basically for the expert development of our children, who have inate talent in the game of football.  It is our honest belief that, there are many Nigerian children, who are naturally endowed in the game...and that is why we strongly feel that, a college as ours', would greatly assist them in nurturing and giving their skills  some form of further education...so that, they won't be all brawn and no brain," the big sportscaster explained.

He further told nigeriasports.com that, "gaining admission into the Football College fo Excellence, is another way of developing your skill for free.  It is virtually free because all parents would have to pay is the initial Ten Thousand Naira Only (N10,000)...yes it is just that litttle sum of money in our own currency and nothing more.  It's I must say, our modest way of engineering the growth and development of the game on a more civilized level; as  it is  in other parts of theworld," he reaffirmed.
