Akide-Udoh who currently plays professional football in the United States of America disclosed that she would be undertaking up the venture in tandem with her long time pal and team mate, Florence Omagbemi, who plays alongside her in the United States with the Hampton Road Piranhas.

''I know something like this is currently bankrolled by PEPSI but I will just do my little bit to give back to my country what I have received in terms of exposure and fame'' she said with a small smile.

“I always tell myself that there are a lot of young ones out there that need to grow the right way and with the kind of exposure I have received in my six years in the United States I believe I can impart some to up coming footballers.”

Mercy who is Nigeria’s highest goal scorer at international level also had good words to say about her friend, Florence.

''Florence is doing very well'', started Mercy, who is married to Colin Udoh of KICKOFF Magazine told nigeriasports.com.

''She has scored two goals and also has two assists to her name. We have both decided to do something for the little ones at the end of our respective playing careers ''

she paid tribute to reigning African Footballer of the year, Pepetua Nkwocha, whom she described as her 'small' sister.

''Even before her award, Pepetua always showed a great willingness to learn. She looked up to me as her mentor and I am indeed very happy for her'', she concluded.
