D’Tigers down Central Africa

Nigeria senior national today shoved aside a stiff challenge poised by Central Africa Republic with superior basketball artistry in the quarter-finals of the ongoing 23rd FIBA Africa Championship holding in Algiers, Algeria.

The Nigerian side coached by coaches Sam Vincent and Scott Nnaji did not leave its teeming supporters back home in doubt as to their readiness to take the Central African team to the cleaner with good combination among the players.

Former Los Angeles Lakers Small forward, Ime Udoka led the floor in scoring with 17 points 9 rebounds and one assist, Chamberlain Oguchi added 12 points and one rebounds, Ikenna Ibekwe contributed 10 points, 6 rebounds and one assist, Olumide Oyedeji had 6 points and 5 rebounds to his credit as the duo of Julius Nwosu and Kingsley Ogwudire contributed 5 points each for a 63-51 points sweet victory for D’Tigers who now await the winner between Angola and Mali quarterfinal encounter which was on as at the time filling this report in the semi finals slated for Tuesday.

In another quarterfinal duel just decided Senegal had the better of Tunisia by 72-67 points victory to book a semi final ticket which will see them take on the winner between host Algeria and Morocco.

Gabon won its classification game against South Africa by 79-71 points while Ivory Coast defeated Mozambique in the other classification match by 77-64 points.

Nigeria vs Angola!!! This match gonna tough becos it's been long that these Angolans have been conquering the Africa BasketBall Championship but this time around I have faith in Sam Vincent and Scot Nnaji including the Guys that they will carry the day and at the virtue of that they have won the Championship. May God Almighty lead them through. Amen.

More grease to your elbow guys. You've tried your best and I give you a great kudos for all what you've done. Losing to Angola by just 6 points margin doesn't mean the end of the world and besides it's been long that Nigeria have reached a crucial stage like this before.

I give a lot of thanks to the Almighty Allah and to whom he sent to do all these jobs :Vincent & Nnaji.

Less I forget. We have a lot of talents in these squad and we should not just dump them anyhow bcos All Africa Games in behind the corner and the Mundial too is coming.
