After their flops in the 100m, Olusoji Fasugba and Uchenna Emedolu went for the 200mtrs tuesday and have both qualified for the quarter finals coming up wednesday nigeriasports.com can report.
Fasugba qualified in fourth place in Heat 4 in a time of 20.88secs.
Emedolu also came fourth in Heat 6 to qualify in a time of 20.22secs.
Both sprinters will go for the quarter finals Wednesday,
Emedolu with bib number 678 will run in Lane one in heat 2 while Olusoji Fasugba with bib number 679 will step out in lane 2 in heat 3.
In the women 200 mtrs Mercy Nku steps out for the first time as she competes in heat 4. Nku will run in lane 7 in bib number 525. She will be running against Christine Aaron of France and Veronica Campbell of Jamaica.
Tuesday in the 400mtrs Godday James made it to the next round while Saul Weigopwa was disqualified for faulse starts.
Godday James returned a time of 45.30 seconds which is his personal best to qualify.
