VMobile Challenge: Comets play on Delta Force in a

With four wins from four matches Atlantic conference leader, Ebun Comets basketball club of Lagos can afford to toy with its last encounter this afternoon against Delta Force basketball club of Asaba after posting a five-star performance so far which has saw the Ayo Bakare tutored side recording win after win. The encounter, which will pitch Comets former captain of many years and assistant coach, Lateef Erinfolami coach of Delta Force against his former team and boss since his taking up appointment as the chief coach of the Asaba based youthful outfit. Though Delta may have lost three of their four games played, but their performance in the series so far is aclear indication that they prepared for the challenges ahead when the premier league proper jump-start later in the year. The team first shocker against Dodan Warriors last Friday makes other teams to adjust that the team was in Lagos to count bridges. The Morgan Egodo and Sati Paul inspired team went down to pre-tournament favourite, Union Bank basketball 80-66 points Monday but they have continue to give a good account of themselves even in defeat they have been able to warm their way into the heart of slamming and dunking fans in the more competitive Atlantic conference. In today’s game, Comets can afford to adopt a less aggressive style of play by resting most of it regulars after defeating arch rival, Islanders basketball club Monday 62-58 points but would certainly not welcome a defeat in the hand of the Delta boys as Bakare and its players detest the word ‘defeat’ and fight to recreate record as it did in 2003 when it went unbeaten en-route winning the NBBF premier league at both conference and playoffs level.
