Robson asks Kanu to give him goals

Kanu
West Brom manager Bryan Robson believes Kanu has a major part to play for the club next season - if he can add goals to his game.

The Nigeria international scored just three goals last season, despite creating a lot of chances for his team-mates.

Robson said: "It's important for the strikers to score goals and I've mentioned that twice to Kanu - at the end of last season and the start of this season.

"He can produce some great hold-up play with his ability on the ball.

But I want him to score more goals. He will then be a far better asset to the club.

"Your build-up play can be great but if you're not scoring goals, managers will look for strikers who can, and I think Kanu appreciates that."

KANU IS AN EXCEPTIONALLY GIFTED PLAYER.ALL THE SAME HE HAS TO STEP UP HIS GAME,ESPECIALLY ON TEAM PLAY,DETERMINATION AND ABILITY TO RETRIEVE THE BALL WHEN HE LOOSES IT.I DON"T THINK IT WILL BE A GOOD IDEA TO PUT PRESSURE ON HIM TO SCORE GOALS.HIS ABILITIES LIE MAINLY IN CREATING CHANCES AND HOLDING THE MIDFIELD.REMEMBER,HE IS MORE A MIDFIELDER THAN ATTACKER.

comment to add to a story why dont u shut up and spare us the disgusting old way of writing off any player u do not like.An authority in football has spoken and u are claiming to know more than him.Dont u think the club would have asked Kanu to go if they think he is finished?

hey guys!...na fight? A fact is that, it is hard to ask Kanu to go from any team cos of his hiding abilities that only comes out while in extreme danger. Another truth is, Kanu is not a consistent player. At the same time, no good coach will appreciate that ability to the fullest. Coach robinson has said it all in his diplomatic statement about Kanu. He has respect for his ability but he concluded by saying "Your build-up play can be great BUT if you're not scoring goals, managers will look for strikers who can. Simple as ABC. Cheers guys!

MICHAEL,name calling is not the best way to make constructive criticism. You left the substance and started beating about the bush. All I have said is that Robson knows more football than u.Watching every single match that is played on tv is not the same as the ability to analyse the game or rate players.Your comments show crass ignorance of the technical aspect of football.YOU HAVE MORE TO LEARN.BYE.

MICHAELFADJA, I did not mean to upset you or use foul language.I do not think I did.If u think I did ,well forget it.It is not intended.Being a players' agent does not make u more knowledgeable than Robson.
