Adidas finally kits Nigeria

After months of meeting, politicking and backbiting, the Nigeria Football Association finally hooks up top sports manufacturing giant, Adidas for the kitting of the national team.

The 2-year deal worth over $900,000 commences from January, when the Super eagles storms Tunisia for the Africa cup of nations.

At the ceremony in Abuja on Friday, the company agreed to pay the FA, the sum of $100,000 in cash and will also supply equipment worth over $800,000 for all the country’s team.

Interestingly, the company also agrees to pay a 10 per cent royalty on each of the national team merchandise it sells. A far cry from the last signed by the NFA under Nike.

Adidas won the right to kit Nigeria after a keenly contested battle with Danish sports wear manufacturer, Hummel.
