Al-Ahly coach forecast Enyimba FC's fall

Chief coach of Egyptian CAF Cup campaigners, Al-Ahly, Jose Manuel had a premonition that, Nigeria's flag-bearers in the continental honours chase and defending champions, Enyimba FC of Aba, would fall long before his boys started filing out for the encounter last Sunday in Aba, Nigeria

This was revealed to nigeriasports.com soon after the referee from Mauritius, Li-Kim Chong shrilled his whistle to signify the end of the match, by the Egyptian team's tender. He told us that, Enyimba put up quite a good fight but "I knew that they would fall. Having beaten the 'People's Elephants' at home, Jose promised to come up with other strategies against other teams on their path to the victory rostrum.

The visiting Egyptians needed only 10 minutes to wrap up victory for themselves in the encounter, which left thousands of fans, who watched the match, speechless.  Taking advantage of a defensive slip by the homers, Al-Ahly attackers swooped on the defenceless goalie, Aiyenugba with their point man, Tarek to slot the ball into the goal for the only goal of the encounter.

According to Jose, he found the antidote to Enyimba FC's successful runs so far, in their video clips, which they watched over, and over again with wrapt attention.  "We had taken time out to really study vidoe clips of the Nigerian team...their style of play, their approaches, strong points, weak points, et al.

"All I had to do before coming for the match, was only to think well on how to counter them.  So, our victory today, was due to the strategy we adopted for the game.  We know that, we still have a long way to go; so, we are ready to strategise for every match.  We are the leading team on the local league table back in Egypt.  We have not lost a match since 2004 and we knew that, this one against Enyimba, would not be different,"he boasted in a post-match chat with nigeriasports.com.

It is good the Al Ahly coach studied the Enyimba style of play before coming to aba because if they had come without watching Enyimba on tapes , Al Ahly would have gone back with at least 3 goals against them. They can ask Africa sports what happened to them in Abidjan last year. Africa sports also came prepared too and stole a one nil victory. In Cairo where the pitch is going to be like what obtains in Europe, I swear ENYIMBA shall HORIFY Al Ahly and pay them back in their own coins with good interest so prepare well, cos ABA game shall be forgotten after the cairo match.
