Nigeria prepare for Davis Cup According to national coach Rotimi Akinloye, the home-based players have responded well to training in the absence of their foreign counterparts. “We’ve started our preparation as scheduled and we are focused on making the best of our Davis Cup. “We are not just going there to make the numbers but to prove that we also have the talents to do the nation and continent proud. “The home based players are in our closed camp, training hard and determined to do well,” Akinloye told Nigeriasports.com Nigeria will be filing out against seven other countries that include Armenia, Cyprus, Tunisia, Turkey, San Marino, Iceland and hosts Ireland. Despite facing such strong oppositions, Akinloye insists Nigeria will not be disgraced in Ireland. “We’ve been in touch with US based Danusa Robinson and Jonathan Igbinovia, they will be joining us in camp very soon. “I can categorically state here that Nigeria will return a proud country from Ireland,” the coach added. 1
