Suffering Eagle emerges hero

Alfred Emuejeraye Emoefe of swiss side,Grasshoppers-club Zurich is smartly putting behind him the disappointments and controversies that surrounds his professional and international career.

The player emerged the hero of his club's reserves, when he got the crucial strike that fetched his team a hard earned 2-1 victory over FC Zurich on saturday.

" I knew I had done something great, but the euphoria that came after the game was shocking for me and I can't ask for more" the player told nigeriasports.com, few hours after the game.

Still reeling in the shock of a one year suspension placed on him and three other Nigerian U-23 side by the Nigerian FA, over what the body termed as 'indiscipline and holding the nation to ransom' and the harsh penalty fired by his club's first team coach, the former Julius Berger potent striker is hoping for better days.

" I am still suffering from the outcome of the 8th All Africa games " the four goal hero of the game revealed.

" Contrary to what people think happened. I got relegated here cos I over-stayed in Nigeria, when I should have left for switzerland before the semi final game against Ghana.My club got mad with me and the so much hyped $4,000 only added to my plight " he sadly recounts.

" I pray the NFA look into my case and give me another chance to redeem myself cos my career is at a crossroad.No matter what I do for the reserves, I still do not belong here but to the senior side" he concluded.

His strike against city rivals FC Zurich was highly celebrated on the official website of Grasshopper and the young forward says he honestly relish the accolades that comes with it.

I read with a bitter heart (inside Guardian Newspapaer)what this guy is going through and I pity him.His performance was highly celebrated on Radio France last night.To be honest, this guy should have been part of Chukwu's list without hesitation.I wish him all the best.
