Buba promise a better NBBF

Speaking during his first official press briefing since he was reelected to oversee the affairs of Nigerian basketball for another four years, the Nigeria Customs Service boss says the game suffered an untold setback over the last four years but says that will be a thing of the past.

The Plateau State-born administrator of note said nothing would stand between the present boards from achieving its set objective of leaving a lasting legacies for generations yet unborn, he however, advise members of his team to put the issue of basketball at their front burner.

|In achieving the goal set for itself, the federation have since set-up eight different committees to carry out its operations with the president heading the finance and marketing committee.

Other members of the finance/marketing committee are the federation first and second vice-presidents - Segun Erinle and Vivian Eze, Dr. Adamu Ahmed, Ibrahim Sa'ad, Police
Commissioner Oshonaike, Musa Kida and a representative of V-Mobile; Dr. Adamu is to work with Muktah Saleh, Teacher Usman Ayo Bakare, Musa Kida, Richard Agu and Ibrahim Sa'ad in the teachnical sub-committee, Mrs. Eze will anchor the women development sub-committee to ably assisted by Teacher Usman, Tijjani Umar, Pius Ayinor and Dr. Adamu.

Other committees are Youth development with Richard Agu as chairman he is to work alongside Muktah Saleh, Ayo Bakare, Col. Sam Ahmedu, Ibrahim Sa'ad and Tijjani Umar; Col. Ahmedu heads the disciplinary sub-committee with assistance from Richard Agu, Vivian Eze, Tijjani Umar and Ayo Bakare, while Tijjani Umar is to direct the affairs of the media/publicity sub-committee with support from Pius Ayinor, Ayo Bakare representative of V-Mobile and Dr. Adamu, and for the first time in many years the NBBF seems to have found its bearing with the coming of a medical sub-committee headed by Vivian Eze who will work with Dr. Adamu Muazu from the Federal Ministry of Sports and Social Development, Dr. Nnaji of the Nigeria Customs Service, Dr. Issa Mohammed from the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital and Sqr Sani Ahmed (rtd).

The federation also set-up what it called a Special Programme sub-committee headed by its first vice-president Segun Erinle this committee according to the NBBF president will oversee such activities that revolves around basketball, other members of the special programme committee are Vivian Eze, Pius Ayinor, CP Oshonaike, Teacher Usman and Tijjani Umar.
