Basketball Federation Forms C’ttees
The Board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has formed eight committees for effective implementation of the Federation’s programmes for the tenure.
It was part of the deliberations in the inaugural meeting of the board in Abuja.
“The members looked at the list and did one or two adjustments as they deemed best for the advancement of the game. The listing was very unanimous,” the NBBF Secretary Chinedu Ezelah said. The President Mr. Gyang Buba heads the Finance/Marketing Committee. Dr. Adamu Ahmed retains his position as the Chairman of the Technical Committee while Mrs Vivian Eze heads the Women’s Development. Richard Agu continues from the last dispensation as the Chairman Youth Development Committee while Dr. Tijjani Umar who returned to the board after a while is in charge of Media/Publicity. Col. Sam Ahmedu heads Disciplinary Comm while the First Vice-President Chief Segun Erinle is the Chairman of Special Programmes. Police Commissioner Oshonaike heads the Medical/Doping team. As a follow-up to the meeting, the details of the Vmobile Premier League will be made public latest by early next week according to the Board. The details will include the financial out lay, the date for the first jump ball and the list of co-sponsors. The other details will dwell on the Federation’s plans for the African Nations Cup (Men and Women), Junior Men’s World Championship and the other domestic leagues and their sponsorship arrangements. 0
