My budget can't with Pro-female league-Omidiran

Former member of the Nigeria Football Association,NFA and owner of Omidiran Babes, Mrs. Ayo Omidiran has explained why her team would not be participating in the Female professional league. Omidiran, who is one of the pioneers of female football in the country told nigeriasports.com in an exclusive telephone chat, that her decision was informed by her budget for the year.

"I decided to pull out of the pro league because my budget for the season won't be able to carry it. Playing 26 matches on home and away basis will be too expensive for me to run", she said.

Omidiran dispelled speculations that her pull-out from the pro league had some undertone, perhaps a subtle way of telling the world that her relationship with the NFA had gone sour. She declared flatly: "Ah no, my pull out is just due to my budget. Nothing more, no quarrel. You know, I would have been able to cope if the league was played on zonal basis. But now, it is home and away and my budget just can't cope".

And to butress her sumbission, she revealed that her team was participating in the amateur league.
She remarked that it was wiser to pull out at this point rather than begin the league and run out of funds mid-way and abandon the exercise.

"You know, that development will make things very untidy for the pro league and as one of those, who developed this game, I want the very best for it,"she reiterated.

As one of the founding members of female football in the country almost two decades ago, Omidiran's announcement of her team's withdrawal from the pro league shocked many in the country.
