Zamfara United target mid table finish
Fans of new entrants into the Nigerian Premier League, Zamfara United may be disappointed to know that their darling team is not in any way interested in winning the Premier League at their first attempt.
Captain of the club, Kabiru Ibrahim told nigeriasports.com that their target is just to have a respectable mid-table finish since this is their first year at the top flight and they may not have what it takes to go all the way for the title. “We are not thinking of playing in the Champions League or even going continental next season because these might be lofty dreams too big for us now. All we want is to remain in the Premier League next season,” Captain Kabiru Ibrahim told nigeriasports.com. “We are a young club and it will be foolhardy of us to think we can just gain promotion to the top flight and win the league. ” Captain Kabiru also praised the welfare package in the club which he says he believes is much better than what obtains in many Premier League clubs.
