Kareem Lukman relishes life in the Premier League

Lukman Kareem
For seventeen year old Gate way Fc of abeokuta attacking midfielder, playing in the PRemier League is a dream he never thought would materialise so soon as he admits in this interview with nigeriasports.com

nigeriasports.com: Kareem, you look very young. How old are you?
Lukman Kareem: I am seventeen years old.
Ns: How long have you been playing football?
LK: My first club was FC Ebiede in 2002 and then I joined Gateway last season and I appreciate what God has done in my life. I never imagined I’ll play in the Premiership this year.
Ns: So now you are in the Premiership how would you describe the experience so far?
LK: its my first season and I just pray that by next season I would have adapted some more and put up a better performance.
Ns: If I compare your size to that of the big defenders in the Premier League like Obinna Nnodim of Dolphins and Raji Nojeem of Enyimba, I want to ask, how easy has it been for you?
LK: It is not easy but I am always watching these people on TV and before now I never imagined I will play against Nojeem Raji or even Obinna Nnodim, but when I eventually met them I had to tell myself that it is my job so I must do it.
Ns: So looking at your future, what is the next step for you in your career?
LK: I pray for more luck this season and next. And I look forward to a career in Europe just like every other footballer.
NS: Gateway seems dooms for relegation, what do you think?
LK: I think we will survive it. We are all working very hard and praying very hard and none of us wants to go down, but we must admit we are a young side so it will be difficult but we are hopeful
