Okocha breaks white hearts

Okocha on the ball
England:
Austin Okocha on saturday, turned up one of his best performances ever in the colours of Bolton against Tottenham Hotspurs at the white Hart Lane, and disheartened the hearts of many, a Tottengham faithful in the process.

Bolton had wondered all through the season with, one win in 10 games ahead of their visit to David Pleat's side, and Bolton's Coach Sam Allardyce had fancied a better performance to erase the disappointments of Man City and Birmingham days back at the Reebok and Manchester City stadium respectively.

Fans of Tottenham got a dose of the Jay-Jay magic, as the super eagles captain mesmerizing runs saw him hitting the woodwork three times and set up a host of chances for others - including the one after 73 minutes which gave Nolan his fourth goal of the season and sent Bolton home with all three points.

Once more, his White Hart Lane performance like that of last season however left Sam Allardyce, eulogizing his brilliance once again "It was an inspirational performance from our captain," Allardyce began.

And explained Okocha's ever glowing output when expected "We struggled to get possession in the first 10 minutes then all of a sudden he decided to turn the magic on, and that lifted the whole of our side.

Allardyce went further to explain the secret behind a counter turn over in Bolton's slow start and misses, all linked to the midfielder's doorstep "Once he started showing that ability we passed the ball a lot better and a lot quicker and once we got at Tottenham's back four we caused them quite a few problems and in the end got what we deserved.

The Wanderers gaffer however sums all up by stressing that "I would say that was the best Jay-Jay has played this season."

Ahead of Super Eagles nations cup preparation in Tunisia, the eagle and skipper of the side has began a great showing that others will have to emulate, if the nation tend to soar above South Africa, Morroco and the Squirrels of Benin

Jay Jay !!!! So good they named him twice. I beleive our Capo has stepped up his game big time, and this should silent all those saying our dear NO 10 is slow. I only hope he finds the net more often, as we all know that we need people to score for the Super Eagles as Julius Agha Wonder will be tightly marked in Tunisia. Once more, Excellent game from Jay Jay, let's hope Ayegbeni also finds the net more often as he made a mess of Ferdinand also during the weekend. UP SUPER EAGLES
