Red Arrows 1-6 Enyimba

Enyimba are a step close to their third succesive title
African champions Enyimba of Nigeria spanked Red Arrows of Zambia 6-1 in the second leg of their Caf Champions League third round qualifying tie played at the Nkholoma stadium in Lusaka on Saturday.

The result is a record in the Caf champions league, being the highest away victory ever in the history of the million dollars championship.

The home side got off to a brilliant start as early as the four minutes when Abraham Mwamba headed in a Danny Hanguyu cross from the right to beat Enyimba goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba.

But the African champions got their deserved equaliser through free-scoring Ghanaian international Joetex Frimpong in the 18th minute.

Frimpong who got a brace in the first leg was quick to captalise on a blunder by Arrows captain Patrick Kaoma, exchanging passes with David Solomon before slotting the ball past the advancing Mankomba.

The goal unsettled the home side, forcing them to make endless errors and they got punished for it in the 30th minute.

As Prince Olomu capitalised on another poor communication between Kaoma, Frank Lopi and goalkeeper Mankomba before tapping into an empty net, to make the score 2-1.

Arrows troubles were compounded in the 58th minute as Frimpong lobbed the ball over the advancing Mankomba.

A brace from David Solomon in the 63 and 66th minute took the game beyond the host and their dejected fans.

Substitute Ifeanyi Obediah added the sixth in the 80th minute to send the handful of Nigerian fans into wild celebration.

The result means that Enyimba are through to the group stages of the MTN/Caf Champions league via a 9-1 goal aggregate after beating Arrows 3-0 in the first leg played in Nigeria a fortnight ago.

Arrows will seek for better continental fortunes as they go into a playoff to qualify for the group stages of the Caf Confederations Cup.

This is fatastic. I think u see how those Zambias treated The Aba boys and their supporters when they arrived Lusaka. But Enyimba showed them that they are not of the same mate in everything. This is a note of warning to other Clubsides remaining that any of them falling into the same group with us is in trouble both at home and away.
I give Kudos to the Coaching crew, the supporters club and the Boys as well.

Enyi Enyi !!!!

Thanks.

ENYIMBA ENYI.................................I warned PORT HARCOURT DOLPHINS but Musa Abdullahi and co.wouldn't listen, rather the were thinking about Odili's largesse, better win the Confederations Cup to compensate this worthy Nigerian.China Acheru was busy claiming superiority over Enyimba.......when they should be planning for ASEC.China believe it or not Enyimba is greater than Dolphins better win the Confederations Cup to rank 6th behind ENYIMBA,,SHOOTING STARS,ENUGU RANGERS,BCC LIONS,INSURANCE,NATIONALE.Enugu Rangers i banked on you and you didn't disappoint me,KUDOS while INSURANCE suprised me losing only by a lone goal and least i won the bet, sorry try again nextb year.08033131084

Enyimba your are out to make HISTORY. The pendulum is swinging on your side, don't fail to achieve all that you want to achieve for it is possible. Remember our destination to win the cup for keeps and anything short of that is totally unacceptable. While waiting on the draws, let's be ready to take every match as they come. Coach Okey & co keep the good work , the players you can do it no matter what and our no 1 supporter Gov Orji we will always count on you. For Red Arrows the scoreline have made them to regret the ill treatment they metted on you people.

Mr Ikwuchrist, a good suppoter will always stand by his team, either in good times or in bad times. For now, enyimba are rolling on a good part, and we have to rejoice with them. Great teams like Manchester United, Arsenal and the rest do have thier bad times, and their fans still stick by them, so i for one will do the same for enyimba, and i hope everyone else does that.
