Dolphins party arrive Abidjan

A hundred man team of Dolphins players, officials, supporters and Other well wishers arrived Abidjan from Port Harcourt aboard a Chartered Sosoliso airline flight at about 2pm on Thursday, nigeriasports.com can report.

The team had 18 players, 10 officials, 10 journalists, and members of Sharks, Dolphins and the national supporters club and had NFA board Member, Sam Sam Jaja as leader of the delegation.

The team is camped at the Posh Hotel Ivoire a five star hotel they Preferred instead of the 2 star hotel Ibis reserved for them by ASEC, While other members of the delegation stayed qt the Ibis hotel.

Nigerians in Abidjan fraternise with Dolphins

Scores of Nigerians living in Abidjan have already started making members of the delegation here feel at home.

Cyril Dum Wite, the Media Officer of Sharks FC told nigeriasports.com that the Nigerians here have been of immense assistance to the team.

‘As soon as we arrived our Nigerian brothers living here have been making us feel at home,’ Dum Wite told nigeriasports.com.

‘They have been interpreting for us, changing money and most of all have helped us find Nigerian food which is very important.’

According to Dum Wite, members of the Nigerian community have promised to throng the stadium in their numbers to give Dolphins all the support they need.

Hold first training

Meanwhile, members of the Dolphin team held their first training session at the Hotel Ivoire on Friday morning and have their second session fixed for 1pm, local time on Friday.

They will have their first work out at the Houphet Boigny Stadium, venue of the match at 2pm on Saturday.  

Odili fulfills dolphins promise

Governor of rivers state, Dr, Peter Odili on Wednesday morning Fulfilled a promise he made to players and officials of dolphins fc In their first leg match against ASEC in port Harcourt;

In that match Odili had promised each member of the team the sum of one thousand dollars if they win, q promise he fulfilled on Wednesday during the teams last training session before departure from Port
Harcourt.

Governor odili praised the team for their efforts so far and doubled their winning bonuses for the second leg match from one hundred thousand naira each to two hundred thousand naira each.

He also charged the players to come back from, Abidjan victorious and be shocked at what he will do for them.
