Anambra golf course gets a life line

The Anambra state golf course project embacked upon and abandoned by the last administration will be ready just as the Interncontinental Bank Plc doled out # 10 million to the state government to help facilitate the completion. Speaking at the Anambra state conference hall where the cheque was presented by the chief executive officer of the bank, Erastus B. O. Akingbola, the governor of Anambra State, Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige thanked the management of Intercontinental Bank Plc and assured them that the money will be meticlously utilised.
 
The governor promised that the golf course will ready before the end of this year to enable Anambra golfers and outsiders take advantage of the facility to develop themselves and compete favourably in times of competitions.
 
According to him, the present administration is not unaware of the importance of sports in the social and economic development of the people pointing out that crisis remain the only constraint but they are poised to forge ahead.
 
Presenting the # 10 million cheque, the Chief Executive Officer of Intercontinental Bank PLC, Erasmus B. O. Akingbola said the bank observed with keen interest the developmental projects of the state since the inception of the present administration and as a corporate citizen of the state decided to identify with its efforts.
 
According to him, he made the promise to assist in the golf course project  last year when he visited the state as golf is one of the sports the bank has interest in hoping that the project be completed in no distant time.
 
Enjoining other corporate citizens of the state to join the follow the trend and help develop the crisis ridden state, the bank chief executive said apart from Lagos state, Intercontinental Bank Plc can boast of more braches in Anambra than any other state in the country.
