Tenger Eyes CAF Champions League Ticket

Still smarting from their 1-1 away draw to Dolphins FC of Port-Harcourt the Chief coach of Gombe United, Justine Tenger has promised that Gombe United would represent Nigeria in the 2006 edition of CAF Champions League.

Tenger told nigeriasports in Port Harcourt that following their draw with the Dolphins that his team has performanced well  since the league start the season, which shows that they are determined to  pick a ticket for the continentals. “We are trying our best to hold our own in the domestic league, but my ultimate dream is playing in the CAF Champions League next year and I hope to get there,” he said.

He stressed that Gombe has never made any good impact in the Nigeria Premier League since its inception, promising that this season would be their year of glory. “Gombe United had never played very well in the Nigerian League, I met them last season at the bottom of the table, almost relegating, I pushed them out relegation”.

“Like I said this season is our year by the grace of God, because our Governor has promised to support us financially and otherwise, which he has done and we are going to make sure that we fulfill our aim,” he added.

Meanwhile Gombe United has not lost any home match, draw four away matches which gave them 13 points and second on the League table. They will be playing home to Gabros FC of Nnewi this weekend, which is likely to give them another three winning points.
