Search and Groom Project storms UK![]() Vladimir Borkovic (Global Network and Research Director, Streetfootballworld) conveyed the invitation to Search and Groom. The meeting is an attempt to make the next step towards reaching different developmental goals, including preparatory steps, towards the streetfootballworld festival 06, to be staged for the first time ever in Berlin, early July 2006, as an official element to the official artistic and cultural programme to the FIFA World Cup 2006™. The network meeting in London will gather the core of the streetfootballworld network, which consists of about 15 organizations providing excellent grassroots football work in their local communities. These organizations, like Streetfootball Norway from Oslo and Search and Groom from Lagos, Nigeria are expected to play an active role in the future network development. Also to participate in the network meeting are partner projects, including Patrick Viera’s Diambar which is based in Dakar, Senegal, Peres Centre for Peace Tel Aviv, Israel, Defensores del Chaco Argentina, Street football for tolerance, Germany, Street Football Future, Afghanistan, etc. According to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and in the frame of the International Year of Sport 2005, the network’s meeting will be focusing on themes such as a trans-national monitoring and evaluation system, developing an agenda of activities to be implemented during the year 2005 and, bi and multilateral partnership discussions with partner projects. This programme will be also in the focus of a press conference, to be held at the venues of FA England on April 6th, with representatives from the DFB Cultural Foundation, FA England/Football Foundation UK and the organisers: Street League and streetfootballworld. Search and Groom is the only approved Nigeria network partner of the Street Football World with Ajegunle being the project point of the initiative. Streetfootballworld was established to bring disadvantaged and vulnerable people of different cultural background together from around the world, through the German Federal Ministry for family affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and the Ministry for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ). 0
